Protective Gases

Protective gases are specialty gases designed for various purposes, often used in industrial and production processes. These gases are used in many industrial applications, especially in material processing, welding, metal cutting, packaging and storage.

Inert Gases
  • Argon (Ar): Used in many industrial applications such as welding, metalworking, electronics manufacturing.

  • Helium (He): Used in high-temperature metalworking, scientific research and refrigeration applications.

  • Nitrogen (N2): Used to provide inert atmosphere in many areas such as food packaging, electronic production, chemical production.

  • Cryogenic Gases (Liquid Nitrogen, Liquid Argon): Used in low temperature storage, cooling and freezing applications.

Oxidation Inhibiting Gases
  • Carbon Dioxide (CO2): Used in food packaging, beverage production, welding and refrigeration applications.

  • Hydrogen (H2): Used in many areas such as metal reduction, oil and margarine production, electronic production.

Gases Forming Protective Atmosphere
  • Carbon Dioxide (CO2): Food packaging, storage areas requiring atmosphere control.

  • Nitrogen (N2): Food packaging, special storage areas, atmosphere control in chemical processes.

  • Hydrogen (H2): Used in chemical processes, metalworking and applications requiring atmosphere control.

  • Argon (Ar): Used in applications such as electronics manufacturing, metalworking, welding.

Liquid Gases
  • Liquid Nitrogen (N2): Cryogenic storage, refrigeration, freezing, scientific research.

  • Liquid Argon (Ar): Cryogenic applications, metal processing, laser cutting, refrigeration.

Protective gases can improve product quality and extend material life by preventing oxidation and controlling reactions during the processing of materials. These gases usually have inert properties, i.e. they do not enter into chemical reactions, so they prevent materials from deteriorating.
